Artist Celso Castro was born in Colombia and studied art there and at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. He works in a variety of media, including photography, watercolor painting, and ink drawing and his primary subjects are the male body and gay male sexuality. The Spanish word "lucha" in the title of this drawing means "wrestling." The image of two faceless men grappling with each other can be understood as a metaphor for gay male desire and the conflicting emotions that some gay men feel before they come out as their authentic selves.
