Luis Lopez Loza creates art in a range of genres, including painting, printmaking and sculpture. His two and three-dimensional works influence each other so that his paintings and prints often have a sculptural quality while his sculptures have a pictorial quality. This image of a ruin-like sculptural form is an artist’s proof that Lopez Loza dedicated to the Los Angeles hotel magnate, Arnold Ashkenazy. Ashkenazy was famous for bartering with artists, offering them hotel rooms, cruise packages, jewelry and other desirable goods in exchange for original works of art.
