Artist Hiroaki Tsutsui excels at creating exquisitely potted porcelain vessels decorated with subtly colored transparent glazes that bring out the natural beauty of the clay and the form. The glaze on this dish is called seihaku, meaning blueish white. It is derived from Chinese glazes originally invented in the 11th century.
