Artist Maeda Masahiro is known for creating ceramics decorated with dynamic, colorful enamel designs. Because many of the enamels melt at different kiln temperatures, his ceramics often have to be fired multiple times. Maeda is a graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts and a former student of two Living National Treasure ceramic artists, Fujimoto Yoshimichi and Tamura Koichi.
