Label
While crossing a rustic bridge near the town of Eijiri, a sudden gust of wind blows Kita’s hat off his head and into a boat moored by the riverside below. This vignette is not mentioned in the Shank’s Mare Tōkaidō text and may have been inspired by a similar image created by Utagawa Hiroshige for a different station in his first series of Tōkaidō prints in 1832-33.
