Park No-soo was an influential figure in the movement to modernize traditional Korean brush painting in the decades after World War Two. His Impressionistic images of landscapes, plants and animals are typically painted with bold, fluid brushstrokes that are simultaneously descriptive and expressive. This painting is one of eight in the KAM collection that were originally part of a folding screen painted by Park in 1966.
