This cleverly composed image portrays the Minotaur and Queen Pasiphaë on opposite sides of a Labyrinth wall, separated for her safety but still communicating with each other. It reminds us that although the Minotaur could at times be hostile and dangerous, at other times he still desired human company and affection.
