Historically, most women’s clothing in Baluchistan was made of cotton, silk or wool. In the second half of the 20th century, however, synthetic fabrics were introduced and quickly gained popularity for their durability, low cost and visual appeal. This Baluch dress is made of rayon and features the same type of embroidered panel that can often be found on older examples. [Caleigh White '2020]
