Rectangular collars with long tasseled fringes were hung across the necks of horses, mules and donkeys when nomadic families were migrating or gathering together for special occasions. Weavings of this shape were sometimes also tied onto the legs of camels to protect their knees when the animals kneel down for loading. [Caleigh White '2020]
